Malaria Protection and Safety

At Mara Sweet Acacia Lodge, we prioritize the health and safety of our guests. The lodge is located in a malaria-prone area, but we take extensive preventive measures to minimize any risks. All of our luxury tents and family cottages are equipped with mosquito nets, mosquito repellents, and mosquito coils to protect you from malaria. We also conduct mosquito spraying twice a month across the entire compound and its surrounding areas.
Although we take significant precautions, it is important to note that Mara remains a malarial area, and we highly recommend that guests bring anti-malaria tablets, mosquito repellents, and consult with their doctors about malaria prophylaxis before traveling to Masai Mara. The region experiences two rainy seasons, with the short rainy season typically occurring in November and December, and the long rainy season from March to May. The heaviest rainfall usually occurs in April, though flooding can occur in both rainy seasons. Whether you are here during the dry or wet season, Mara Sweet Acacia Lodge provides a comfortable and welcoming stay throughout the year.
